Rear view of the car as stripping begins. |
The bare 'shell, stripped of everything but the roll cage
(which is welded-in) and doors. We will only be putting back the parts we
really need! |
Some more excess weight being removed! |
Stripping well under way. All suspension components removed
to be cleaned and painted prior to the installation of new bushes. |
The front drivers door needed some attention with the welder
- the window frame was barely hanging on. Some other patching was required
where the body has been modified. |
Someone's proud of their work! |
The engine awaiting a little tidying. This one will go back
in as a standard engine, developments to extract a little more power are
planned for later in the year, but not at the expense of reliability. |
Lots of areas of the 'shell needed attention to help achieve
a nice paint finish. Even the door lock holes have been filled, to give a
clean and smart finish. |
The interior is now painted a nice bright silver, including
the roll cage. |
Work goes on...... |
....and on! |
Drivers foot-well newly painted, the new racing pedal
extensions can just be seen. |
The whole under-bonnet area is also painted silver. |
Neat aluminium panels finish the interior sides. The doors
will be similarly finished to create a tidy environment. |
Going for paint - the car will be away for almost a week, in
the meantime we get the engine and gearbox ready... |
