Alfa Sprint Build

Alfa Romeo Sprint - 2002

Created a couple of years ago from a tired road car with a blown engine, this car has taken some impressive results. It was class winner in the winter championsip on 2000 and 3rd overall in class B in 2001, even when running with an old 1500cc engine. With the 1700cc engine it managed 2nd in class B at a winter endurance race at Brands Hatch.

Our rebuild in preparation for 2002 included stripping out as much weight as possible and making it as simple and reliable as possible. We use it in 2 championships so reliability is at the top of the wish list. All trims, interior and exterior, were removed, along with all glass (to be replaced by polycarbonate, except for the mandatory laminated windscreen) and all unnecessary brackets and accessories. We run the car on 15 inch wheels with slick tyres in dry conditions and on 14 inch wheels with cut slicks in wet conditions. Check out the build page for more info.
