Car trials are perhaps one of the most frustrating motorsport disciplines as competitors are often doomed to failure. The idea is to follow a prescribed route through course markers, generally on an upward incline and a slippery surface (grass or mud)! The point of failure determines the score awarded - the lowest being 0 for a "clean". This means the winner will have the lowest score. Strange but fun.
Just to prove a point, Daniel took part in one car trial using his own VW Bora TDi. No class honours would be possible due to the size and weight of the car, the worn road tyres and the torque delivery of the tuned diesel engine... but he did manage to clean some of the hills to the surprise of many onlookers! |
